"The National Heritage Day" in Byblos

Every year on May 17, Lebanon celebrates the National Heritage Day. Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture - Directorate General of Antiquities, the Municipality of Jbail-Byblos organized on this occasion a celebration that lasted from 9:00 till 14:00 in the city’s archeological site. The ceremony, attended by students from different schools and other visitors, included guided tours of the site with Professor Moustafa Itani from the American University of Beirut's Nature Conservation Center, that were focused on the conservation of the rare plants in Lebanon, which can also found at this site. There was also a gathering with the Daskra team, a project prepared by the Center for Nature Conservation and Adyan organization on how to use technology to highlight Lebanon’s sites. Not to forget other activities such as excavating, packing archaeological debris and manufacturing jewelry out of shell the way the prehistoric man did.
